Why is this tour different?

A trip focused on observing marine wildlife, offering greater flexibility, expert knowledge and a deeply respectful approach.

01
Greater freedom to explore

This type of boat allows us to explore different areas during the same trip and adapt more easily to sea conditions.

02
Local expert knowledge

During the trip, the guide will not only show you the animals but will also help you understand their behaviour.

03
No-chase wildlife watching

The skipper reads the sea and positions the boat to maximise observation opportunities while respecting the animals.

04
The ocean from a different perspective

When the animals choose to come closer, we can hear their breathing and sometimes their communication. Being closer to the water allows for a better sighting than on other boats.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. The communication and organisation were excellent, and our guide Daniela was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about what she does. The sunset hike and stargazing experience on Teide were unforgettable. We felt very well looked after throughout the evening. Highly recommended.

Miam!

Highly recommend booking tours and guides with this business as we had a wonderful hike with a very knowledgeable guide Roberto in Anaga and a close-up dolphin and whale watching rib boat ride with Nico. The recommendations and service by Laeti were top notch.

Why does this boat offer better viewing opportunities?

This is the boat that offers the best chance of spotting a wider variety of species.

Thanks to its size and flexibility, we can explore different areas during a single trip and adapt more effectively to sea conditions.

This does not guarantee sightings of specific species, but it does increase the chances of seeing them compared to boats that follow more restricted routes.

    Species regularly observed:

    • Short-finned pilot whale
    • Bottlenose dolphin
    • Green turtle

    Species occasionally observed:

    • Atlantic spotted dolphin
    • Common dolphin
    • Striped dolphin
    • Fraser's dolphin
    • False killer whale
    • Sperm Whale
    • Bryde's whale

    Other marine species:

    • Loggerhead turtle
    • Leatherback turtle
    • Flying fish

    And numerous seabirds.

Why Tenerife is a key location for the observation of cetaceans?

A marine sanctuary: The south west coast of Tenerife is home to a variety of cetacean species, both resident and migratory, that find refuge in these waters throughout the year.

Great biodiversity: The Teno-Rasca Marine Strip, situated in the southwest of Tenerife between Punta de Rasca and Punta de Teno, is renowned for its rich cetacean diversity in Europe. This region is home to the largest resident population of tropical pilot whales in Europe, along with various species of sea turtles and a diverse range of other marine creatures, including fin whales, various dolphin species, sperm whales, and more.

Global importance: In 2011, this area became the third worldwide and the first in Europe to be designated as a Special Area of Conservation, known for its unique features of marine life. It is also part of the Natura 2000 Network, which seeks to preserve habitats and species threatened in Europe.

International recognitions: The Teno-Rasca Area has been recognized as a 'Hope Spot' by Mission Blue and as a 'Whale Heritage Site' by the World Cetacean Alliance, highlighting its global significance.

Regulated activities: All leisure activities and professionals in this area are strictly regulated. The sighting of whales should be done in a sustainable way, respecting standards of speed, distance, duration of the sightings, and other measures to prevent any interference in the natural behavior of the animals. Abiding by these rules is essential to preserve the peace and well-being of cetaceans, ensuring an experience navy that is responsible and respectful.

Your choice matters: When you choose a company authorized and committed to the protection of the fauna, contribute to guarantee the respect of the rules of conservation in the Area of Teno-Rasca.

A sustainable future: The conservation of this protected area promotes the growth and the preservation of populations of whales, ensuring a healthy marine environment and promote harmony between human beings and marine life.

What are the chances of seeing whales?

In the south of Tenerife we have one of the most stable resident populations in Europe.

On our trips, the probability of seeing cetaceans is very high, around 99% all year round.

We always work in a legal and respectful way, without persecuting or disturbing the animals. They are wild and free animals. That is why we cannot guarantee specific species.

    Is it suitable for children?

    • There is no legal minimum age.
    • But as it is a zodiac with specific seats, we recommend a minimum of 3 years.
    • Children often like the feeling of sailing in the zodiac.
    • Not recommended for pregnant women.

Is it better to choose the morning or the afternoon tour?

The truth is that there is no exact answer.

Traditionally, the morning is recommended because of the sea conditions.
But with our experience, we can say that we see animals both in the morning and in the afternoon. In fact, sometimes we have had more surprising encounters in the afternoon departure.

Nothing in the ocean is 100% predictable.
It depends on the day, the conditions and... luck.

What is the difference between the 2-hour tour and the 3-hour tour?

Both options include whale watching, a specialist guide, drinks, a snack and a stop for a swim.

The main difference lies in the amount of time available during the outing.

    2 hour tour
Perfect if you're short on time. It includes whale watching and a stop for a swim, at a slightly more lively pace.

    3-hour tour
It allows you to enjoy the experience at a more leisurely pace, spend more time observing your surroundings and stay longer for a swim.

In both cases, the main aim remains the same: to observe wildlife in a respectful manner and enjoy the ocean in small group.

Is it better to choose a shared tour or a private tour?

    Shared tour
The most affordable option for enjoying the experience in a small group.

    Private tour
The boat is reserved exclusively for you, allowing us to tailor the approach and pace of the trip to your interests and preferences.

Would you prefer a more relaxed experience? We also organise sailing trips to enjoy the ocean at a different pace.

Would you like to discover more of Tenerife? I can also help you organise other carefully selected experiences to make the most of your trip. Contact me and I will recommend the best options.
